Empezaron siendo una empresa familiar “de barrio” que vendía productos de belleza y maquillaje. Hoy agrupan en sus tiendas más de 200 marcas nacionales e internacionales y sueñan con ser el principal retail de belleza del país.
Una familia caleña convirtió una “tienda de barrio”, que vendía productos de peluquería y maquillaje, en un emprendimiento que hoy busca convertirse en una de las boutiques de belleza más relevantes del país siguiendo los pasos del reconocido retail Sephora.
“Mi padre, un antioqueño trabajador, viajó a Cali en medio de una situación financiera difícil. Siempre trabajó en todo lo relacionado con la fotografía; vendía rollos, cámaras, pero cuando llegó la tecnología digital, el negocio cambió. Con ese nuevo panorama decidió explorar en el mundo de la belleza y abrió un local muy pequeño en el centro de Cali. Con el tiempo abrió más locales y logró consolidar la marca Krika”, cuenta Camilo Zuluaga, CEO de Krika.

Esa pequeña tienda se popularizó en la capital del Valle del Cauca y hoy ya cuentan con 10 sedes en esa ciudad. Se convirtieron en un retail que agrupa a 150 marcas, 80% de ellas nacionales. A la fecha, facturan 6 millones de dólares y tienen un crecimiento anual a dos dígitos. “Logramos construir un ‘hub’ que conecta a la gente que fabrica los productos de belleza, los nuevos emprendedores y los consumidores”.
En pandemia, cuando los cierres los obligaron a buscar opciones de comercio digital, fortalecieron su ecommerce en un plan por ser el principal punto de venta de maquillaje del país. Solo en 2021 las inversiones para lograrlo alcanzaron los 100.000 dólares y pusieron en marcha una app en la que sus clientes pueden comprar sus productos desde cualquier lugar del país y acceder a toda una serie de tutoriales sobre belleza.
El desarrollo incluye alianzas junto al gigante de la belleza L’Oreal, con quienes están construyendo una plataforma de reconocimiento facial para agregar a su servicio la experiencia de realidad aumentada (AR) a través del sistema ModiFace.
“Hoy estamos procesando más de 1.500 pedidos al mes y en época de promociones podemos procesar más de 2.000 pedidos en dos días. Tenemos un equipo de trabajo dedicado solo al ecommerce de unas 10 a 15 personas, además de nuestra área de logística”, detalla el CEO.
Ahora la empresa tiene el objetivo de cerrar el 2022 con 15 millones de dólares en ventas, pero también buscan seguir consolidándose como un ‘hub’ de desarrollo e innovación en Colombia del sector de la belleza, además, de poner a andar proyectos de impacto social como su academia de barberos y de uñas con poblaciones vulnerables del Valle del Cauca.
